Day 97 (May 30, 2010)
• Ross Petersen hails from the nearby town of Durant, Iowa, and walked-on to the Hawkeyes in 2006 (he redshirted that year).
• He moved from linebacker to tight end during 2008 spring practice, then moved back to linebacker for the 2009 season.
• Ross only saw action in 2009 in the Hawkeyes’ 35-3 rout of Iowa State at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames.
• For Durant High School, Ross earned honorable mention all-state recognition as a senior and was first team all-District as a junior and senior. He rushed for 703 yards, had with 229 receiving yards, 236 yards on punt returns and 326 yards on kickoff returns and scored 13 TDs.
