How to make your cards

Hawk Central has designed a set of 100 Iowa Hawkeye trading cards featuring current players and coaches and two Hawkeye legends. We’ll post a new one here each day for the 100 days leading up to the start of the 2010 football season.

The jersey number of the player featured will coincide with the number of days left before the season (except for coaches).

To make a card, click on the “Print this card” link on the left for whichever player/coach you choose. Doing so will open a PDF file of the card. To print the card, use the print command on your Web browser.

Once the card is printed, cut it out and fold it in half. We then used cellophane tape on the edges to make it into a card. Depending on the thickness of paper used, a glue stick might also work.

To give the card extra strength, we used cardboard from a cereal box. After cutting out the card, fold it in half and trace its outline onto a cereal box or something similar (it should be a 2.5 x 3.5-inch rectangle). Cut out the cardboard, and fold the card around it before taping or gluing. You might need to trim the edges of the cardboard a bit.
