Bob Brown
1942-2007. Regina High School track coach (1983-2007) and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics recreational therapist 32 years, profoundly affected many he coached. A local native, Regina (1960) and UI (B.A. 1963) alum, founded and, during nearly two decades, built Regina’s cross country program into a premier show in Iowa. The Regina track now bears his name, and the Bob Brown Invitational track meet is held annually. As his athletes won numerous district and state titles, he was Iowa coach of the year three times for track and five times for cross country. He is enshrined in Iowa Track Coaches Hall of Fame.
